For the Valles Caldera National Preserve exhibit, I served as the Animation and Video Specialist, focusing on storyboarding and animating the 2D top-down projection elements for a 12-foot interactive relief map. My work visualized the dynamic movement of ancient Pueblo peoples, seasonal animal migrations, shifting plant and wildlife biomes, and complex scientific concepts such as paleo-magnetics. These animations were projection-mapped onto the large-scale model, immersing visitors in the Caldera’s layered history and natural systems. Guests could further explore these narratives through Presenter displays highlighting four key themes—Geology, Ecology, Cultural History, and Scientific Discovery—bringing together art, science, and storytelling in an engaging, interactive experience.
