Directly after Semester one ended and Winter break began, I immediately talked about this story pitch to a friend of mine who is a skilled film major. Her skillset truly shines on scripts, so I decided to put her in charge of the script. Attached below is the final and formatted script, this is the point of reference for everything now. From this we plan on creating an asset list and shot list. One of our struggles in the Story class was creating a script, originally we had planned on splitting the script into the 3 acts and having the group doing certain acts--to this I realized this would result in an inconsistent writing style. In addition to that, we are DAC students, not filmwriters so instead of charting unknown territories, I figured it would be best to give this to someone who really knows what they are doing. The result was astonishing, just having a physical copy of the script makes this short film feel just a little more elevated.
Additionally, I talked to my family about how the setting should look and feel,
what kinds of buildings and textures to go for. My dad showed me a video of a village in Bangladesh so I took screenshots of outdoor and indoor shots as well as props.
