Today, we discussed and finalized our shot list. Thanks to Krislyn who excellently created a asset list and a shot list over the week, it saved a lot of time for us today. As a group we finished "translating" the last page of the script onto the shot list. We also discussed a visual style for the short. While it was difficult to describe out loud, we all are on the same page. Painted textures, semi realism. We agreed not to go for a Pixar style because it looks "plastic-y" and wont read well. We want to steer away from photorealism as well because personally I've seen the DAC shorts that attempt photorealism and it has an uncanny valley feel. At the same time we don't want a cartoony style that takes away from the seriousness.

Additionally, we discussed how the main character navigates the environment, therefore dictating how we layout the village as simple as possible. Thanks to Jeremy's feedback we realized the ending needed a stronger resolution.

For this next week, I am going to work collaboratively with Bianca on a color script that will double as our animatic by piggybacking off Kryslin's shot list. Ill start from the ending, and Bianca is starting from the beginning and we can meet in the middle. I am going to do some art for look-dev this week as a proof of concept of the visual style because we can't find any external sources that do our vision justice.
